Leigh Clifford AO

Chairman, Qantas Airways Limited

Leigh is the current Chairman of Qantas Airways Ltd, Bechtel Australia Pty Ltd and the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute. He is the Senior Advisor to Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Co and a Board member of National Gallery of Victoria Foundation.

Leigh was previously CEO at Rio Tinto Group, where his career spanned an impressive 37 years. Leigh was a member of the Coal Industry Advisory Board of the International Energy Agency for a number of years, and acted as Chairman from 1998 to 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) and a Masters of Engineering Science from University of Melbourne.
