Prof. Quentin Grafton

Executive Director & Chief Economist, BREE - Australian Government

Quentin is Executive Director at Bureau of Resource and Energy Economics (BREE). He is the recipient of many research awards and the author and/or editor of a dozen books in resource and environmental economics, along with over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and chapters in books.

Quentin has served in numerous advisory roles and expert panels in Australia and overseas, including Chair of Social and Economics Reference Panel of Murray-Darling Basin Commission and a member of National Council on Education for Sustainability. He performs a number of other academic roles, including Professor of Economics and Director of the Centre for Water Economics, Environment and Policy (CWEEP) at Crawford School of Public Policy at Australian National University (ANU). Quentin is Chairholder of numerous other water initiatives, such as UNESCO Chair in Water Economics and Transboundary Water Governance. He has a BAg Econ (Massey), MS (Iowa State University) and a PhD in Economics (University of British Columbia).
